Pre-Harvest Wrap up

Time to get caught up on what’s been happening before we find ourselves knee deep in harvest.

Mia was pretty busy in July. We bottled the 2007 Selene Merlot, 2007 Chesler Red Wine and 2007 Selene Dead Fred Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines made it through bottling without any problems and they taste great already! Mia also went to Ohio and Kentucky for two trade tastings put on by our distributor, Vanguard Wines.


Then in August, we had solar installed on the roof of our house! It’s something Mia has wanted to do for a while, and it turns out that our roof has the perfect angle and direction for the panels.

Then we took a much needed vacation to VEGAS BABY! We went with Bob and Stacey Bressler, Bressler Vineyards, and flew out of Santa Rosa. This trip was about restaurants we haven’t been to before, and it ended up being the most fun we have had in a long time. Mia and I went to House of Blues for breakfast every morning. We had lunch at Rosemary’s, BLT Burger, and Nine Fine Irishmen (which had the Guinness 250!). We had dinner at L’Atelier one night.

We had a memorable dinner at Lotus of Siam thanks to Elaine and Scott from Vino Las Vegas! We all fell in love with the soup, and were honored to meet Chef in person! This place is as good as everyone has been telling us, and the wine list was awesome!

Our special night was dinner at Guy Savoy in the Bubbles Bar before going to see Bette Midler! We all agreed that we can’t wait to go back to try his 10 course menu, as the service and food were incredible. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Bette was great, there is nothing like a real Vegas show.
